Support During Treatment and Recovery
Our Sentara Therapy Center offers Neuro and Cancer rehab services in a state-of-the art location designed with our cancer patients in mind. We have brought together specialized physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists to provide the services most needed during treatment and recovery to help better manage pain and speed healing.
Easy Access — No Referral Needed
If you are having difficulty with swelling of arms/legs/head/neck, joint stiffness, weakness or loss of balance, we also offer Direct Access Physical Therapy — which means you can walk in or call for an evaluation and start treatment with a physical therapist without a physician referral, putting you on the path to healing sooner.
Speech and Language
Our speech-language pathologists can address issues you may experience with swallowing, speech or cognition. In 2021, we are proud to be adding a speech pathologist to our team who specializes in the care and use of Tracheoesophageal Prosthesis (TEP), an indwelling prosthesis placed in the neck for patients after laryngectomy.
Support When and How You Need It
From general therapy to providing support during and following chemotherapy or radiation to lymphedema management, our team will work with you and your physician to assess your needs and develop the best course of care.
